New Canon S5IS. Still learning to manipulate the settings. That was near sunset and the color and saturation have not been messed with...those are the colors my eyes were seeing...

No manipulation needed.  Looks like you had good light which is the start to any good photograph.

In general keep her on Av or aperture priority and the camera will set the shutter speed.  Nice pics Ernie.
