i have a quick question i was wondering if a bipod would help with a spring piston pellet gun for accurecy. im just not sure because of how they recoil. any help?

anything to give you a good rest should help accuracy.

ya thats my problem tho we live on 20 acres and have lots of pest birds and i kill them by the dozens but there is no where for me to rest the gun so i am constantly free handing it.

get one of the shooting sticks that telescopes so it can easily hang on your belt.

Find a military surplus bipod for a M16. They are spring loaded and clip right onto any round portion (barrel, tube under barrel, etc). I have two of them somewhere. Quick and easy to deploy.

If you can learn to be a good shot in offhand everything else will seem easy.  I would try to pull a rest on a tree or a post or get a shooting stick.  I would say bi-pod, but I always seemed to be shooting straight overhead back in my pellet gun days when I was picking starlings out of the trees.  Good luck.

Excellent pellet gun blog.  The guy knows his stuff (published in Shotgun News and others).

There, they describe an "artillery hold" (do a search there as the link has) useful for maximizing accuracy on finicky spring guns.  If you read a few of the articles, you will also find that like firearms, pellet guns can 'prefer' one type of pellet over another, in addition to being finicky about how they are held.  So it may be worth experimenting with different weights and shapes of pellet.
