AKBowman,
Does 'Walk In Hunting Only' allow the use of a bicycle? Just asking. I would interpret it to mean "Walk In Hunting Only".

Sako-

Under "timber lands" terms Walk In Only Hunting means no use of motorized vehicles. Non motorized bicycles are fine. Maybe I should have taken the picture of the other sign to the left of the road which explained the Dot system and cooresponding regulations, I just thought it made for a neat pic.

Thanx AKB. Just wondering. I hunt a lot of wilderness areas and my deer wheeler isn't even allowed. Nothing mechanized.
I friend I used to hunt with when he still lived here in WA used a mtn bike deer hunting and would put the gutted deer on the bike like he was riding it. Tie it off and just walk it back to camp. Tenderloins on the seat. The rest you figure out from there. Always seemed like a good idea but I never did buy a bike.

Yeah I hear ya about the wilderness areas..those areas definitely have their own sets of rules and regulations and they are different/more strict than the private timber co. or DNR/State lands. One of the wilderness areas I hiked into a couple years ago had what was known as a "heartbeat" rule. Meaning anything with a heartbeat counted as a member of your party and the party size was limited (I think it was 6 or 7) so if you brought your dog that would count as one member.

Those areas are cool though and I'm glad they are regulated the way that they are. Personally I think a lot more should be done to limit the amount of areas that guides can use in those wilderness areas or maybe have areas designated where the guides cant bring clients.  Maybe they already do not sure. Anyone guess I'm getting a little of track. I hope to get back at it after this rain dies down and the rivers recede from flooding levels. Maybe Tuesday and Wednesday, bet their wont be many people out there to compete with!!
