anyone use a lumbar/fanny pack?

I have been thinking about picking up a lumbar style pack for day hunts and scouting when it is warmer.  something that leave your back clear to breath.  so who uses them and how well do they work out?  whats good, cabela's brand, bad lands ect.

I have one and use it when hunting close within a few miles of camp. Very well made, lots of attach points, and the suspenders a very comfortable. Mine has been abused and it still looks and functions great.

My dad used one for years. Had the same one for 20 plus years. There great for evening hunts when you don't need the extra weight of a back pack.

Hornhunter droptine fanny pack great little pack 18 compartments has a drop tine hydration pouch that is stored in a little pouch on the back molded foam suspension straps also has a bottom copression panel for carrying a tripod and gear clips on the belt I really like the pockets on the belt they are really handy and the way the pockets are in the pack there is a place for everything and your gear is very organized which is huge for me.

I use the CAbelas transporter pack and love it.  It's comfortable, holds a good amount of stuff and is durable.  I've had for about 5 years now and haven't had any trouble wth it, and it affordable.

I have used the cabelas fanny pack for years.  I switched to a nimrod system.  you can configure it for what ever the need by adding different size bags to the harness.  Or for short trips use just the harness with the fanny pack built in.  I like it because I am a big guy and the adjustments allow for a perfect fit.

I just bought one from The Sportsmansguide. It's a Grizzly Kodiak. $25 or so. I've tried it on and fits very nice. I can put all the minor
stuff in it. Like , sandwiches, TP, calls, has a water pouch, ammo etc. All those other ones are expensive. I stay away from Cabelas
online because you pay tax and shipping now since they're in Washington. Besides, Cabelas is proud of their prices.

I had a nimrod pack.  I used it for two seasons.  It was a nice pack a little on the spendy side.  I have always used back packs and this was the first fanny pack style I have tried.  I just couldn't get used to it after all the years of back packs.  I paid like 190 for it and just sold it to a friend for 50.  I would buy a cheap one just to see how you like the fit.   I wish I would have done it this way.  Live and learn.

I use the Nimrod. Its great! Plus you can easily expand it to a bigger pack.
