so new to hunting within the last couple years and me and hunting buddy dont have any good optic for scouting, we mainly hunt waterfowl turkey and are thinking of getting in to big game. it would be nice to be able to scout field for brids during waterfowl season and scan areas for turkeys in the norhteast and south east. would also be nice to be able to use to scout for big game in the future.  what magnification do you think is the best bet. 8x, 10x or 12x and lens size 42 50 or more. have been looking at the leupold(green ring?)  12x50 and the nikon monarch 12x56. any suggestions? price is close on each around $350 to $500 .

For your application, I would recommend our ZEN ED2 10x43. I will also encourage you to compare it to those european brands. If it does not meet your expectation, simply send it back to us within 30-day for full refund

50 mm is indeed awfully heavy. The only time I could imagine using my 50s regularly is if I were a disabled/road hunter. I have Nikon Monarch ATBs in 8x42. Not bad glass. If never loose em, I'm going out and spending more on he next set. Losing my cheap Bushnell's in the field my first year of hunting was the best thing that ever happened tome  :IBCOOL:

12-15 power make use of the 50mm, other wise a quality 8x32mm will smoke a mid grade 10x50.

I have the Zen Ray 8X43 ED2s and I love them.  Best glass for the $ IMHO. :twocents:
I am the first person I know that has a pair, but I have a buddy that is already planning to buy one before next season after looking through mine...

My buddy that I mentioned in the last post LOVES his (he got the 10X model too).  Now that I am coaching the High School JROTC Rifle Team I use mine every day.  A guy at the last competition I was at borrowed mine for a few minutes.  I think I may have sold another pair for Zen Ray... ;)

I've got 10x42 Nikon's and will work as good as those $1000 ones. Don't get sucked into the BS. I can see as good as any of those. You only use them a few times a year anyhow. It's all hype. I looked into some $2000 Leicas this weekend and didn't see a $ 1800 difference.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Each to his own, but you must have $ 2000 to spend on binoculars.
