Thanks we went to a location that I had seen birds in last year. There was a lot of snow so we went a little lower.First thing in the morning we heard lot of talkin so I started talking back and they came out in a clearing about 150 yards away. They we all henned up but we had a great show for about 1 hour when the went into the timber getting closer was our goal .We got closer alright and almost got busted. They cont, struting at 70 yards. This went on for about 45 min.my friend was using a bow and when one of the toms came in to gun range he couldn't take it any more.He said give me the gun and blam a clean miss. This was his first turkey encounter and he took it kind of hard.So after lunch and a30 min nap when the sun came out we heard a gobble started to get closer. We got with in a 100 yards and set up and started calling. They were close and then stopped gobbling for about 20 min.The I heard them going away from us.So the plan was to get in front of them a cut them off.We started our long trek and allthe sudden a crow came by and cawwed the turkey's gobbled and we were right on top of them about 60 yards. After about a 20 yard belly crawl they were at 50 yards. My buddy seen the beard put his bow down and said give me the gun.I told him aim higher this time and then blam dropped him.All the other birds didn't know what happened. Is all they saw was billy flopping around on the ground. After about 5 min the other tom and 3 hens came right at us.They went behind some trees about 30 below us and the all the sudden the hens were right below me about 20 yards. Then out of no where the tom was 10 feet away and I wacked him and thats the story.
