Daddy Daughter season 2010
« on: January 06, 2011, 09:26:01 AM »
:archery_smiley: Well better late than never I always say! Here are a few pics of mine and my daughters deer this year and it happens to be my first pic post! Hope it works. My daughters deer happens to be her third with a bow and her best to date. She shot it on fri. December 10 at 8 am. I had just finished texting her and telling her at 7:50 am that if nothing came in by 9 she needed to get down and go to school. At 8 she told me she had just shot a buck at 17 yards and he was quartering away and it appeared to be a good shot. I told her to hang tough (38') up in the tree and I would be there in a while. I got there and he had only gone about 60 yards. After hugs and high fives and some pics she got to go to school and show all the boys that her buck
was bigger than any they had killed this year! Sure makes for a proud dad. This deer grossed 150" and happens to be her best. Her 08 buck was a clean 4x4 that was a 131" and in 06 she shot her first with a bow that was a forkey. In addition to the deer she has a 6 foot bear on the wall and a 320" bull elk. She almost has more mounts than me,and at only 17! (She shot bear at age 11 and the elk at 13 with a gun) maybe more on them in different forum. What other 17 year old girl will get up at 4:30 am and get in the truck and drive herself to our parking spot and then walk in the dark to the stand and climb up 38' strap in and wait an hour in the dark to be able to hopefully kill a deer? Not many. Gosh i Love her! Her older sis did it also and has a 6x6 bull and a 143" buck. She has left the nest and is studying wildlife science in school. Soon I will have my own personal Biologist.

My buck was also killed out of the same stand just three days before my daughters. It was an exciting hunt but my daughters takes the cake. My buck grosses 160" and is my best to date also. Just a quick side note that i still have trail cam pics of two bigger deer at the same stand that we didn't get. Hopefully next year. :chuckle:

big congrats on two fantastic bucks!!!!

on a side note...... either you are going to have to be beating the boys off the porch with a stick...... or you won't have to worry about it at all since most of them will probably feel inferior to her. ;)

funny you should say that because she already intimidates them and that is fine by me. There are a couple boys she likes though that I'm okay with. :chuckle:

Great bucks! It's funny my 4 year old son wants to hunt someday, but my year and a half old daughter shows more of a personality like mine so I might have a daughter who hunts as well. Probably not if my wife has anything to do with it though.... She did and taught ballet until she was in her early twenties so she's hoping for a ballerina :chuckle: Again, nice ones!

:chuckle: That is funny! My oldest is 20 and the youngest is 5 with four in the middle all girls. (finally had a boy age 4 at the end) he is all boy to high hopes for him. All my girls though dance, play piano, sports, shoot guns, and bows, fish, hunt etc. Being a ballerina is a good thing though it will help her jump over logs and climb trees better. :IBCOOL:
