my son is doing a project in school and was told that a deisel can only back fire when going down hill useing compression as a brake. i have limited knowledge on deisels and during our discussion & his further questions we decided to ask the help of some of the mechanics on here. Do desiels backfire and under what circumstances? Thanks for the help.
