I recently acquired the Firestorm and was considering the Spitfire and the Scorpion.  I went to the FireStorm, becuase the Scorpion allegedly has the most issues  related to Volume control limitations, etc.  I would recommend the Spitfire or the Firestorm in those price ranges.  If you want to spend more money go to the Fury, but I didn't want to spend that sort of money.

I would have purchased the Kanati Tek, but I was using mostly cabela's gift cards, and seeing how Cabela's does not sell Kanati Tek, that wasn't going to be an option.

Get the Fury now because you will want to upgrade to it later anyways.

I have had the FX3 and now have the Firestorm. Still wishing I would have saved up for the Fury in the first place. Have played around with the Fury a little bit they are by far the best.

I have noticed that my Firestorm is made out of thinner/cheaper plastic than my old FX3 was. The battery tray and rear cover are noticeably lighter weight plastic than the previous models. I take extra precautions not to break them or handle them roughly in the cold. The usb port also seems cheaper and is hard to get my connections in. The outer case, speakers, and memory board are all better but it appears that foxpro is starting to cut corners on the less essential items.

Does anybody have any reviews on the "FOX BANG"? I see that the Firestorm comes with that feature. It sounds pretty cool.

I have it on my Firestorm. If I could ever get a shot off I will let you know how well it works. It was fairly easy to program, It just jumps to a pre programmed sound and volume level after the shot.

The Fury does not come with that feature. It is available with that feature. It's an additional 85.00 dollars on the Fury and you have to order it from the factory that way.

I have the "Foxbang" on my Scorpion, but like fair_chase, I have yet to get off a shot to test it.  However, I do know that I have to be careful not to let the remote bump something hard, or it will shift to the programmed sound.  I set it on "Medium" sensitivity for my caliber range as recommended in the manual, but it's still sensitive to bumps.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

I have looked at Foxpro website but when you don't know much about them they all look good.  This is why I was looking for suggestions from actual users of the different models.

One of the things I've read is to make sure you get one that you know will be loud enough for the area you hunt.  The bigger the area and windier it is the more volume you need.  I understand the praire blaster is VERY lound but it's also the biggest.  I was thinking about either the Firestorm or stepping all the way up to the Praire Blaster.  THoughts????

Fury all the way. I am selling my xr6 right now. its in the classifieds. I have had a lot of luck with my caller. I just like all the features in the fury. I have good service from foxpro. So they will keep my business. I am ordering my new caller this week sometime. Look forward to putting it to use. I have been a bit of a bum this year when it has come to yote hunting. Been busy with all kinds of stuff. Look forward to putting it to use.

What do you all think of buying a foxpro off Ebay???  I can get a Praire Blaster for $550-580 and in the stores they are 699.  I like the size of the firestorm alot better but with the Praire Blaster you get more sound and the decoy.  Not sure if the decoy is that big a deal though.

Thoughts???

That thing is friggin huge.....  :yike: I wouldn't want to pack that think around.  The smaller ones are much more practical in size & if you need the extra volume you can always ad the external speaker...... If you decide that you want the decoy, than maybe because when you add the Jack in the box to mix it than become a royal pain in the --- to pack them both around.
