Trout: Opening Day Hotspots?
« on: April 23, 2008, 08:12:49 PM »
Where you all going opening day.  It's been cold, but I'd go for a good mess of Kokannee.

Here's a trout I caught in a secret lake last year.  Love the smell of trout on my hands.

Where you headed?

Well if Washington Pass was open, I probably would head over there.

We have a little fly-fishing spot we take our sailboat to that pans out pretty well.  They're good eating, too!

Soon as it warms up, I'm heading for Shannon for some smokers.

I am headed to grandma's house on a local lowland lake here in Olympia (Long Lake). Can launch from the dock, fish until I find what's working, then run home to get the kids back on the fish. Free coffee at grandma's house! Keep the holdovers, toss the planters...gawk at the masses of guys floating around in a mish mash of weird looking boats and set ups, reminds me every year of a cross between Mad Max and Misfit Island from the rudolph xmas story.   :chuckle: Love it!

I remember a place like that when I was a kid.  Don't forget to bring a milk jug or a coffee can.

Aint that the truth!

My buddy tried refilling a Raineer pounder bottle-and filled it  :yike: Then had to pinch it off as he "glug.....glug......glugged" it over the side. I bust out laughing so bad, he lost control and started spraying the boat down like a razor clam! Sick ass!
