new range in the hood!
« on: January 14, 2011, 11:09:22 PM »
I have been a member of T.S.C. for a few years, okay on and off for the last ten years but I have been active with the archery committee for the last couple years. I live in Eatonville and finally got around to joining Upper Nisqually Sportsman's Club and am looking at putting a lot of time into the the archery range and walk through that they started working on last year for the 4-H club. Just a couple questions I have for the rest of the bow guys on here, if we build a good solid 45 to 60 target course would you come shoot it? Would you come out for a 3-D fun shoot? Would you come out for a safari shoot? On another note I dont want aNYONE WHO MIGHT READ THIS TO THINK i AM DEFECTING FROM TSC. I am just trying to get more involved in my own back yard. Please archers give me some input.

I'd go shoot your course. With only Skookum and TSC here in the South Sound another walk through would be cool. Build it and they will come...

Hi Wormfood, Just for safty and insurance purpuses you might want to go with the guidelines of the Washington State Archery Association for setting up ranges. It's not as easy as it might seam to be safe. Nice to have another range go in.

Have the club become a WSAA Charter club,  then you can get your shoots on the WSAA wesbite and advertise in the quiver.  You then can also put in to host some of the WSAA State shoots.

Good call Annette, Good luck with your new range.  Always good to have more places to shoot.  Do you have to be a member or can you pay for the day?

You are on my way to work.  I'd be there.  Both of my kids shoot as does my wife.  Know several other locals that would shoot it.  Need help?

There is already a 10 to 80 yard flat range and a 19 target walk through there. It needs some good old sprucing up on the flat range and looks like gonna have a good chunk of land to work on the walk through. The walk through that is up sounds like it was set up for the 4h shooting sports and is really simple and basic.Am looking to leave that course alone while tryin to cut trail for a full length course. Gonna take some time but I plan on putting in a lot of time workin on it
