Help with bear roast

I was given two bear roast and want to smoke them. I could use all the help any of you can give me. Cook temp, time and brine.
Please help!! I have never cooked bear meat before.

I hope we can see some pics when you get it all done. I would think a nice soak followed by a nice hot smoke would work out fine.

PM rasbo, He has a good recipe it sounds like. He posted a rub that he really likes on bear. I'll bet he would talk you through the cooking process.

put a rub on the roast use plenty,let sit over night..smoke the roast till it hits 170..Then I like to sauce it then wrap in foil real tight,put back in the heat and let it steam a while,,,you can also smoke it and then crock pot it....Make sure there is no fat,on the outside unless ya like bear fat yuk

If you don't want to smoke one of them, this is really good.  Beer Bear: Apply pepper and Johnny's to the roast and brown it in some oil. Remove to a crockpot and add a bunch of chopped onions and garlic and saute for 5 minutes or so.  Deglaze this with a bottle of Guinness Stout and pour the whole mess into the crockpot with the roast.  Add enough Guinness then so the roast is about 1/2 submerged.  Cook until desired tenderness is achieved and serve with boiled potatoes.  Make a gravy out of the crockpot sauce too, very tasty.
