Accubond

I have been a Barns-x guy for a long time,  but I have a 300WSM that really loves to shoot the 180 Accubonds, it does like the Barns TSX, but it definately seems to favor the Accubonds. I have no field experience with them except at the range.

For you Accubond guys, lets hear your Pro's and Con's for this bullet.

I shot 1 deer with the 180 accubonds out of my 300 win mag. Grenaded the spine of my muley and kept going out the other side never to be seen again. Deer was DRT. 100 yard shot.
My gun really likes them too which is why I chose them.

The 4 deer, 3 bull elk, and 2 bear I've shot with the accubonds couldnt hold one, pass throughs. My longest shot,  990 yards at a deer was with a 200gr accubond out of my 300 RUM, broadside pass through. The closest shot at big game I've had was with that same rifle/load, 10' bear in AK.

I just got the accubond's for my 338wm and 25-06 rem. Look forward to testing them out.

My 300 wsm loves the 180 accubonds, had a complete thru and thru on my bull elk at 423yds. He went straight down. I thought I'd missed until my hunting partner was standing over him in a hole right where i guided him to.

shot my bear with my 300 wsm with a 180 acubond, did its job, perfect mushroom and it traced around in the bear, she went 20 yards and piled up.

The Accubond bullet is designed by Nosler to take the best characteristics of the Partition and the Ballistic Tip and put them in one bullet.  It is designed to shed approximately one-third of its weight when hitting an animal.  That means a 180 grain bullet loses about 60 grains of weight inside an animal.

By contrast, monolithic bullets like the TSX are designed to retain virtually 100 percent of their weight.  A 180 grain bullet goes in 180, and comes out 180. 

Which is better?  That's a topic for endless discussion and debate.

Both designs work well under the great majority of conditions encountered.  If your gun likes the Accubond, use it.

just started using them this year in my .270 . i shot my mulie probably further then i should have with a little kentucky windage. i was suprised when i got up to it. bullet hit right where i wanted it and left a fist sized hole out the opposite side with what was left of the lungs hanging out. Im thinking i will stick with them.

I used to only shoot Partitions. Made the switch to Accubonds. Went to under 1" groups handloading my .300 wby.
Heres my buck I shot with a 150 grain accubond this year. Worked out pretty well
