Ever have an empty Koro basket and wonder why?

The problem is in the single lock mechanism that is designed to keep the lid shut.
As the bigger beaver apply pressure on the opposite side of the cage,,,,the aluminum frame flexes and allows the lock to disengage from the frame and the beaver can push it open.....



The simple modification is going to be installing double locks similar to what the "Hancock" trap has,,,,,,
This picture also shows the bent frames on the Koro.........

Hmmmmm Was thinking the samething. Fencing was pushed up good and beaver gone. Going to fab new locks for both ends. Ever since the beaver was caught. He hasn't even been back to fix the twp dams. Hmmmmmm

This is interesting.  I don't think Mike and I have had this problem before.  Do you stake your Koros so that they remain upright after they close?  I can see a big beaver bending the frame like that but I have trouble imagining him crawling up and squeezing out of the trap if the trap is upright and that latch is at the top.  But these animals impress me in new ways all the time so I'll take this on-board.

funny thing is the one that got away. Was the only time I didn't stake both sides down.
