How do you guys keep track of the sheds you find? Like when and where? On each shed I find I take a sharpie and write on it the year and an abbrieviation of the area I found it. I got the idea from my dad. So I was just curious of what other guys did or if they just didn't care?

Maybe its just me but I can tell you just about where every one of the hundred or so sheds I have laying around came from just by looking at them.

I've make tags which I laminate and zip tie to the bases of the sheds. The front side of the tag is the number for that year, and the backside is the year itself.

I also keep a log of each shed in excel with a bunch of data so I can benefit from it in the future. . . All about continuous improvement!

Attached is my 2010 log, with their coordinates blurred of course!

Yeah I can remember where all my sheds came from and and even the specific trees or bushes where i found them. Yeah Its weird.

Haha!

I go with roommates and friends, so we rotate who drive each trip. Most of these are within 45 minutes of town too, with the exception of a couple trips to Elk River. The fuel money didn't hurt too bad, especially since it's a big hobby of all of ours!

Oh, and those are only the ones I found myself. We found about double that on the year. . . I've got the best eye for 'em out of my crew, or at least the most luck!

Sorry couldn't resist.

I used to put a piece of masking tape with location and year but then when people wanted to see them I had to remove the tape so now I don't do anything with them. It is all stored in my brain. I only keep the bigger ones so it isn't hard to remember where and when I found them.

It is all luck anyway. I always go out thinking I won't find any and just rely on blind luck.

The best way for me is a simple picture, I have pics for all my sheds pretty much. I have a photo album with al the pics in it and I keep it in the safe.

Thanks, I designed it and everything, then added some graphics. Thought about making some money on the side over here making and selling them, though I'd have to find some new graphics because some of those might be copywritten.

I take ATL's of all my sheds too. I actually posted a bunch of them last year. They're here, you might recognize some in the pics:

I can pretty much remember where each one was found, I have started a journal of each shed hunt this year. Noting where I was, date, weather conditions, snow depth if any, and where each shed was found. I've wanted to do this for years but never got around to it, until this year.
