Did anyones guns go down this season???
« on: February 07, 2011, 10:19:11 PM »
I made it through the entire season without my shotgun breaking.  Then I took it out this last Saturday and the ejection plate snapped in two pieces on my Benelli SBEII.  It is shipping back tomorrow as it it scared it up pretty good as I thought it was hanging up on the light trap loads and shot another 2 rounds.  Simple fix, but some filing is now required.
Cut em!

My escort mag. started having cycling problems halfway through the season.
My freind, a machinist, gave me some dry-lube they use at work.
Cleaned the gun, sprayed it with the dry-lube, never had another problem.
It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!

the stock on my maxus came loose. I am pretty sure it was my fault, I forgot to put lock tite on the stock bolt after messing with the fit shims :bdid:.

What are they going to do? Is it a newer gun? I hope it is

The stock on my 870 snapped and some plastic got wedged between the choke and barrel, when I got in my car wreck.

No issues for both of my Benelli's. But then again, I haven't tried putting light loads through them as that's been the knock on them. If I wanted to shoot clays with them is their a lighter 2 3/4" load that you guys recommend?

Don't mean to jack the thread, but hearing about benelli's and the hang up of not good on shooting light loads, I'd like to hear what might be recomended.

THanks-

My guns performed flawlessly but my buddy’s SBE-II caught a bad case of the Benelli Click late in the season.  Hope he gets that worked out.

My husband's 7mm trigger broke at the end of season last year on a 3 point blacktail (which he never got) and had it fixed before season this year.  My daughter had a missfire on her doe this year but put another in and finished the job.  That's the only problems we had.

My M2 worked well this season, had like 2 jams, and 1 fail to fire, but that was because it was -11 degrees and I had somehow gotten a tiny bit of miosture on the bolt head in the firing pin hole. But other than that it worked very well, it seems to get a little slow at times, especially below 20 degrees, but still cycles everytime. Probably put 1 and a half cases through it this waterfowl season.

I did not get my shotty out of the safe at all for duck this year. Not one day on the water, not one shot fired. Spent all my free time working on the house.  :'(

I sent it back to the factory to have them go through it again.  I think I only had about 28 cases of steel shot through it as well.  Last year I purchased a back up SBE.  Last night I picked up a deal on a Berretta Extrema II, so I will see how I like that as well.
I sent Benelli a letter to see what the life expectancy was on one of there shotguns.  I seem to wear them out a little quicker than most.
