Early season bass
« on: February 06, 2011, 08:13:04 PM »
Went Steelhead fishing two weeks ago so it really seems early to try for bass. But then I went to the Sportsman's show and watched some of those bass fishing seminars with the bass pro's. Yeah, they got me all excited so me and a buddy went out today, first trip of the year. Threw some jigs around with a green pumpkin trailer and lucked into this 4 pound 10 ounce dandy  :IBCOOL:

Well, it hasn't, yet, but hope we get a few nice days to warm the water a touch. Fish blue and black jigs with a pumpkin green trailer, slow. Don't know about deep, I caught this one in 3 feet of water. No doubt, a fluke of sorts, but I am going again, today...actually, I will probably fish the rest of the week.

I was told by a bass pro giving a seminar at the Sportsman's Show that you wont catch too many fish this time of year, but the ones you catch should be big. I go into it with thought of having a bite a day is good.
