R-25 in .243?
« on: February 13, 2011, 10:54:18 AM »
Thinking about getting a Remington R-25 in .243.  Initially wanted a R-15 for coyotes and plinking, but thought if I got a .243 I could do the same thing, and used it for deer hunting.  Any thoughts?

I Think ya would love it. i have the R15, but the .243 would be better. problem is, cost of ammo, it would be a great gun, all precision though, no rock n roll, to costly, but i think it would be superior to the r15 wich i have and love.

I just sold a remington ar 15 in .223. It was a fantastic gun. I mulled and mulled an R25, I was thinking 7mm-08. It was like that commerical of the dog agonizing over his bone, "OH worry, worry, worry..." The only thing I see as bad is the $$$.

I settled on a 6.8 spc to be the next EBR playground, I love it. I also have been playing around with a 6mmx45 but it has feeding issues. I have been told that if you take a .25 inch shaving off of the feeding part of the magazine it will fix it but have not done the mod yet.

There are so many variations to the AR a guy could go broke.  :bash:

I've definitely considered the cost of ammo.  I reload so the large investment would only be the one up front and a little more money over time in powder.  I think that would be better than just buying a .243 later on down the road and reload for that anyway!
