Brother's Steelhead
« on: February 10, 2011, 11:40:55 AM »
Just wanted to post a picture of my brothers steelhead up.  We went out to lower monumental dam by Kohlotus and fished there off land.  I think he used a slip bobber, yellow job, purple shrimp, and anise oil with this fish. Weighed about 12 lbs and was about 32 inches from nose to tail. Fish was caught about a month ago and they went out once since then and caught to nice sized natives (little smaller then this one) and they were supposed to go out either today or tomorrow so I post the update on that fishing trip later.

Picture is of my brother and his fish.

Update for today. My brother and dad went out today this morning and caught 4 steelhead. 3 keepers and 1 native. They said they got all of them within 30 minutes. Same set up as before but used salmon egg oil.  They kept all the keepers with the biggest at 29 and 23 as the smallest and the one they put back was around the smaller ones size.

Nice fish.  I have been skunked this season.  Glad to see someone has had some luck.
