Where to go shed hunting
«
on:

I have an interest in going shed hunting, but I don't know all the rules, and legal times to go, I know that Oak Creek and Wenas, JoeWatt are all closed until a specific date(of which I don't know) I do a lot of muzzleloading hunts and of course I find a shed or two here and there, but I want to take my wife, and some of our friends up for a shed hunt this year, we are not afraid to walk, and the " crowds of people" don't scare me, above all it would be a nice walk. Any info you guys have would be appreciative. Thanks

Thanks for the info, I have never actually hunted over there so not totally familiar , but I have hunted up on Clemans, 5 corners, Wenas for many years , any tips to Oak Creek? I have read a lot of bad reports as to the amount of people, and then the tresspassers, and what not it irritates me , but like I said I am not afraid to hike and at least it will be a nice walk . If there is that many people what about parking?

Thanks ! I have found a few sheds in my years of hunting , but I have never gone out specifically to hunt for sheds. These two are mounted on the fireplace wall. The first one of these Elk sheds I found while on a muzzleloader hunt , needless to say I quit hunting elk that morning and started looking for the pair. I was not able to find it , however I did come across the other one a year later.

I like that idea, reminds me of my "lost in the woods/calm down method" which is running in place for 10 minutes !!!!!
