Scarpa Charmoz GTX

Below are some specifics on the boot. I've had them now for two weeks and love them. Scarpa is a weird boot that fits certain foot types, usually narrow heels, high instep and wide toe box. They are not as stiff as my single leather boots or my double plastic boots. By saying this they are not a full on ice climbing boot but more of a general all around Alpine climbing boot that will serve me well up-land hunting, big game hunting whether it be deer or sheep and every thing in between. I get a fair about of toe flex when walking, they are very warm even though they they are a single boot that only weight 1 lb 8.5 oz each for a size 9.

I gave Danner a try and finally gave up on their quality. My single boots that are all leather are Scarpa and I've owned them since 2000 with not one problem. They are heavy and stiff as hell but they've been through hell and still are in excellent shape. My Danners, the ones I wore a lot were used from 2008 to now and are falling apart.

Even though I'm a big supporter of American made products, I almost exclusively buy boots made by European companies anymore.  The quality difference is just too great to ignore.

The Scarpa Escape is a nice looking boot also.
