New bowhunter

hello everyone

I am planning on hunting deer and elk this year in eastern washington and don't really know where to start looking. I have hunted in the IEP land for white tail but not for 10+ years when I was a 12-15 year old kid. I am either going to be looking for elk there or somewhere on the eastern side of the colville national forrest up around newport or across the river from cusick. Does anyone have any pointers on the area or any area north east washington. Thanks for the help.

I am not looking for directions to your honey hole or anything just looking for some general tips in the right direction. any info or help would be nice I plan to start scouting when the snow melts for potential elk holding areas but there is alot of steep heavily treed ground up there. thanks.

We'll good luck wth info cuz we don't know nothin bout u n most people we meet now ah days seems like drifters comes, gets info, and no return wth pics or stories. But  I'm not familure wth that area but good luck n welcome to the site

I understand the feeling It is hard for me to take a newbie to my few good steelhead spots on this side of the state, but you gotta start somewhere. Most of my real world contacts who hunt (wifes family) have hunted mostly in Montana and that is to expensive for me right now and the only thing I have hunted in more than a decade is turkey and pheasant.
