Guys, put the x frame grips on your 329's and it will be your most shot gun.....it makes a huge difference. The stock grips are pretty harsh with stiff loads. For the no bs lightest nastiest bark vs weight...the taraus 450ti is the answer. It is +p 45lc rated and weighs 19 oz. It bucked so hard with 365's at anything over 800 fps it would pull a lee factory crimp.

My vote goes to the T/C Encore pistol. For its size, its surprisingly light, and comes in a variety of large cals. Plus you can throw full sized scopes in em
Theres plenty of room for all of gods animals.... right next to the mashed potatoes!

Its a 5.7x28mm, little more recoil than a .22 long rifle, light weight and as you can see in the video, armor piecing. The Brady people have been up in arms since it was made available to the public, originally intented for military and police only.

the one I had.....I think so, 44 that is. might be special only, which does not matter as even the fastest powders are unable to burn completely in a short barrel

The Taurus and the Scandy SW look like what I want...

Model:  329PD, Caliber: .44 Magnum® .44 S&W Special .Capacity: 6 Rounds .Barrel Length:  4" / 10.2 cm. Front Sight:
Light Gathering HI-VIZ® Red DOt .Rear Sight:  Adjustable .Grip: Wood and Rubber .Action: Single/Double Action
.Frame Size: Large - Exposed Hammer. Finish: Matte Black .Overall Length: 9.5" / 24.1 cm.Material: Scandium Alloy Frame
Titanium Alloy Cylinder .Weight Empty: 25.1 oz / 711.6 g realworld price new is $950-1050, used $750-850

Model: 444MULTI   Finish: UltraLite Titanium S/S   Caliber: .44 MAG  .44S&W  Grips: Cushioned Inset Rubber Grip  Capacity: 6
Weight: 28.3 Oz.  Rate of Twist: 1:16"   Barrel Length: 4"   Construction: Titanium/Alloy  Frame: Large   Action: DA/SA
Length: 9.8"   Safety: Transfer Bar   Trigger Type: Smooth   Rear Sight: Adjustable  Front Sight: Red Fiber Optic Fixed
Real world price new $520-570,  used $450 hard to find used

I have a buddy who has the 329pd and I really like it, but when it came down to it to me the Taurus has a better factory rubber
grip, and trust me you will want the rubber grips on either of these guns, the 329 comes with wood and rubber grips from the
factory. The Taurus has a double locking cylinder, it locks in front and behind the cylinder. Scandium is not weather resistant like
titanium. And the price was also a deciding factor for me I got my 444 for $470 less than my buddy paid for his 329pd.
The Taurus 444 is almost impossible to find in black, you can get the SS version rather easily.
Both S&W and Taurus don't recommend shooting over 240gr bullets in these two guns,  You'll be happy with either one

That 5.7x28mm look pretty cool.  It would be fun to try.  But it would be a bit like shooting Griz with a .17 HMR.  Bad idea.

The X frame grips will not fit he 329PD.
Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.

Taurus has the Titanium Tracker series which are out of production but NIB or clean used ones come up on g*nbroker all the time.
You can get 5 shots of 41mag, 44mag, 45ACP in a k-frame size gun that weight less than 24 ounces.
I just shot mine yesterday (45acp) unbelievably accurate.
All of these bigbore autoloaders lack one thing, penetration ammo.

Its purty much 44 or 41 for me. I've killed blackies at close range with both calibers a couple times with each and know they will do the job on a griz... and hard cast 320's outta my 44 right now!!! :IBCOOL:

How do the S&W survival guns, .460 and .500 fit in the mix??
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.
