Which Brand of Calls to get?
« on: March 17, 2011, 08:01:24 PM »
I am getting back into predator hunting, and getting some new calls.  I have not hunted predators for many years and lost my calls in a move 6 years ago.  I still have my electronic call, but need some new mouth calls.  I just went to order some and realized that there are lots of brands to choose from.  I do not remember what brand I use to have but they worked.  I also will be hunting western wa now, I did all previous hunting in eastern wa.  What calls would you guys recommend?

I think you need both open and closed reed calls. I like the standard Crittercall open reed and the Olt Close range call (if still available), a thin reed between two pieces of plastic, very good for cats. Most commercial closed reed calls use JC voices and are basically the same. The custom call makers tune these voices and give better sounds.
