Its not about needing the extra season too me just more time to spend in the woods. I put in and got drawn for the elk and purchased it so I can put in for the blues . If I dont get drawn for the blues I can still hunt branched bulls on the west side. Plus I am a taxidermist so I never know when I will get time to hunt so the multi works great for me. Wife got the deer and purchased it too. $500.00 later.......

The WDFW will draw again for any permits that are not purchased. I don't know if it is a complete redraw or if they draw alternates and then they are contacted after the multi-tag purchase deadline.

I was told that they draw certain number of alternates that are contacted in line with where they drew. So if you were # 501 drawn and 1 of the first 500 didn't buy it then you would be next in line. That was the way it was explained to me from a person on the phone from the game department. Now we all know that not everyone you talk to on the phone has a clue. But that is what they told me.

I know it is not gonna happen but just for *censored*s and giggles, what do you all think about the idea of an auction? The unpurchased multi season tags go to the highest bidder. It Could raise money to help feed the elk through the winter, might cut back on some of the winter kills. How much would you be willing to pay? To hunt elk with out having to worry about east or west side or to apply for east and west special permits is easy worth a $1000 to me.

I drew the deer and bought. I agree with Bucklucky also, its not about needing the time, just more time in the woods.

Funkster, Are you serious a $1000 for a multiseason!! I like the statewide elk tag but the $160 they get is plenty in my opinion. nwhunter

Yeah,I am serious! It comes down to the special permits. If anyone has been drawn for a really good tag, then you know what I am talking about. You get the chance to hunt big bulls that have not been pressured with hardly no other hunter's around. To me that is worth a $1,000 and would give the WDFW more funds to feed the elk,win win situation. But like I said,it will never happen.

Nothing special aboutthe tag.  You are still out with thousands of others.   Woudl I pay a $1000 for a tag in the BLues for big bull.   YES!   A chacne to hunt spikes during the archery season with everyone else, then spikes with a muzzel and then spikes during the Yakima frenzy, NO THANKS!

It's not worth the $160 to me........so I wouldn't pay $1,000 either.  If I was retired and had plenty of time to hunt all of the seasons, then the $160 price would be fine.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Bone i agree, Not worth 1000 to me, but it does give me the opportunity to put in for tags that i wouldn't normaly put in for, i am a west sider. I hunt bulls over here, but if i draw that tag i can put in for peaches ridge and the blues.

This is what I am talking about!

You don't have to be retired to hunt for that long just own a business all the hunting time you could ask for!!!
