I'll add one to DL's that he forgot.

That IS good advice.  How are the toes?
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Thanks for the advice.  There are a few tags left for Mule Deer a couple units south of where we are going to be.  If the area looks good while I am there then I may have to buy a buck tag too. :)

Interesting story about that buck with the velvet that is hanging in shreds on the other page:

We did not have any deer tags that day.  We were hunting prongs only.  Then we saw that monster on the way out.  We watched him for a while and dad decided he wanted him.  So we drove all the way to Sheridan to the G&F office (~80 miles I think) and bought a tag, then drove all the way back.  When we got to the place he was, he had moved...  about 50 yards.  Dad shot and we had the deer.

Get in your truck, drive 20+ hours and look out your window; lopes everwhere  :chuckle: ....just saying.
Sled, I will text you pics and the camp grid coordinates later this week. I'm leaving in a few hours  :IBCOOL:
BTW - my brother got there yesterday and already stuck a doe with his bow  :archery_smiley: on the first day. Camp meat  :cue:  is waiting for us.

I have some friends (believe it or not) that have been back a couple of times. The last time they went and drove, as soon as they got into town they rented a small pickup that had Wyoming plates  and noone payed any attention to them hunting both private and public. They always had permission to hunt on private and even had folks asking them if they had talked to the landowner as they were nieghbors and just checking on em. Worked out pretty good

After my first hunt in wyoming my best tips are watch out for the prickly pear cactus(ouch), and bring one of the reciver mounted hanging post for skinning out lopes.  When you do six in one day on the ground the back and legs get pretty sore.  It would also help keep the meat clean.  The best one is if you have never been apply for the tags, and go.  You will be happy you did!
