Fastest Bow?
« on: May 22, 2008, 08:36:57 AM »
Fastest IBO I can find is the PSE XForce at 352 FPS. Anything faster out there?

Not that I have seen yet.  I shot a lot of different bows over the last week, from various makers.  The fastest I shot was 350.  Too bad the cam seems so aggressive........
Thought Bowtech had the fastest in the 82nd Airborne?

I'm curious what draw length and what the arrow weight is for them to pull those numbers. It seems with those speeds, your going to sacrifice a good chunk of accuracy. :dunno:

That stands to reason, I don't think I would seriously look at anything advertised over 320-330. My Parker is rated at 287 and it seems to have plenty of punch.

I am speaking strictly from IBO.
The rating on the SlayerX is 350, but at my draw and hunting arrow, it would be much lower........
I just bought a Bengal (Martin) last night rated at 315-320, but I will never see numbers like that at 28"dl.  I would like to see around 280, but not sure if that is feasible either.

Those speeds are measured with a 30 inch draw at 70lbs and a 5 grain per inch "IBO" arrow.  So much lighted than what we're allowed to use here in this state...

Also, each inch of draw lenght you cut to go shorter the more and more speed you'll begin to lose... The longer the arrow is on the string, the faster the bow will be!

You have got to have large cajones to go after them with a bow.  My hats off to you.
Mine are to tiny to attempt that yet.  Someday I will grow up and be a real man.  (who am I kidding?  That will never happen!)
