Wenaha Spring Bear
«
on:
March 27, 2011, 09:30:04 AM »
My buddy drew a Wenaha spring bear tag. We have never hunted that area before although I have hunted other areas in the blues successfully. Does anyone have any tips for hunting that unit? We will be there every weekend, but if its the same as other units, the snow will limit us until later into the season. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, been researching it. Lots of bear reports from people 6 to 8 miles in. Thinking about bringing the horses.

Remember there's a couple river crossings that will test even the most sure footed horses and sometime your not even able to cross depends on run off

Thats what I like to hear! I have been looking over maps and no roads means less pressure! This should be a good one!

Beautiful pic! That looks like awesome country! The steeper and deeper, the better.

Both, like i said the river in the bottom the biggest problem get ahold of me and i will keep track of it depend on run off the first part of May. This is what the wilderness looks like pack trails in the bottom.
