Quick question for reloaders...

Never encountered this so figured I would run it by you guys.

I have been using the Lee Case Length trimmers that come sized for each individual cartridge.  Have been pretty pleased with them so far.  My 7mm-08 trimmer turned out to be a bit on the short side and I am trimming them to about 2.013-14 ish.  The manual says trim to length is 2.025 with a max length of 2.035.  I have snooped around the web and asked a few people and so far the answer is it shouldn't matter too much.  

What do you think?  Are there any major drawbacks to trimmed brass that is a hundredth too short?  It is going to grow over time.

I am not an expert but I dont think it would matter to much. Maybe if you are in to comp shooting it might but not for hunting.

If you shoot them, they'll grow a little.  You can get even more if you full length resize vs neck resize, but then you get less life out of the brass.

Yes, the bottle neck brass will stretch. The fact that they are short won't matter much unless the neck is shorter than the equal of the diameter of the bullet. Short necks aren't a big deal, but mixing necks/cases of different lengths will affect accuracy within of a group of reloads. If you're crimping, then the crimp point on a set of different length set of cases will be inconsistent. This could create inconsistency with the performance of your reloads.

You'll need to trim after sizing as they do grow but it is more important that they are all of the same length. I trim after every sizing, but that's just me. I want case length, especially neck length, exactly the same.

Thanks for all of the replies guys.  Reloading is the one hobby I have where I really try to be particular with everything.  Things like .015 hundredths can get a guy in trouble.
