Anyone wanna take me muskey fishing

I have  always wanted to catch one and had no luck..  Any experts out there?

I certainly don't have the time to go out but go to Mayfield reservoir or Lake Curlew and throw big bucktail spinners or spinner baits and you have a decent chance of finding one. That's been my experience anyway.

You looking to fish on the west side or   The pike fishing on the Pend Oreille river system is good.  I'm no expert on them as to what time of year to fish them and such but I did good in August last year.

i dont really agree with this statement beacause i go every year with some friends and my dad and we have a spot were its about a fish every 2 casts, no joke.  i have caught 20 a day in this hole but its my little secret spot

hey thats not a bad pick up line! lol anyways i know evergreen lake has a few tiger musky in it at the quincy lakes ill be going this year to try my hand at them this year

fill my boat with gas, tow it there, and we can drink beer and watch the fish finder and get excited whenever a line bumps whether it be a snag or a minnow, we can get excited and call it a musky hit.

 i bet if you went to pet-co and got like some feeder mice and some rubber bands....... and just strapped em to the hook youd land monsters all day

this is definatly in WA lol, i go every year and it is a blast! im going at the end of the month for a turkey/fishing trip and will get some pics for you guy to see, heres one of my uncles fish, they are all bout the same size

Im doing a repro mount of one for a customer and from what he says you can like sight fish for them in mayfield. Not too hard to find and hook but i guess they can be tough to land with their big teeth and all. I wanna try it this year. Try checking out some of the muskey clubs around... somebody would probably help you out

On tapps we have landed some nice ones. Biggest was 22 pounds so far. As for gear, use titanium leaders from Cabalas! Even the big ones don't fight that great, but are fun. We actually ate one to see what it was like. Mushy and boney. Yuk!

In the late summer try the west facing shores later in the day with stumps and logs. You wont see them but you will see them once they start the follow! Cast to shore and reel big ass rooster tail like spinners. Yellow seemed the best. We never got em on the plugs. But tried lots!

Man!  I have fishing fever so bad I can hardly control myself!  Has anyone been having any luck on the Pend Oreille?  I went saturday, but I think the water may still be a little cold.

Lake curlew is an awsome spot for catching musky, we stayed there a couple of years ago and caught 5-8 fish in 2 days. We lost a few and landed a few. Top water rapalas and the banjo minow worked well. Blacks beach resort is were we stayed, I think that was what it was called.

Titanium Leaders?  I caught the one I posted earlier in the thread on 6 lb. Berkley XT line with a size 12 hook and a small worm all set up on an Ultralight Cabelas rod!  haha..  It was a fluke and we were actually fishing for perch/bluegill at the time.  He was hooked perfectly in the corner of the mouth or I would have never landed him.  All the Pike I caught on purpose, on my heavier casting set-up, were only 18-24" long of course.  We ate the big one I caught and it was great.  Some of the best white meat fish I've eaten.

Good info on where/when to fish.  I agree with what you said.  I've also found that if there is a shadow or some cover or a back eddy they are good spots. Look forward to seeing some pictures from people this summer!

curlew has been producing some huge ones the last few years its twenty min up the road from me they can be caught but its not easy and yeah they are the fish of a thousand casts... Then whats a steelhead the fish of five thousand casts??? Lol

I have caught over a dozen out of Lake Tapps.  I normally get one every other trip.  I would take you but its not worth a darn till the water is warmer
