Video Review - Call'n Bears
« on: March 28, 2011, 04:52:11 PM »
Title: Call'n Bears - They Come to Eat

 Production Co.: Hunter's Specialties

Review: Watch a sows hackles raise as Wayne Carlton calls her away from her cubs during an elk hunt. If her raised hackles don't raise yours, then this DVD is not for you. I originally purchased this on VHS and it is one of the primary reasons that I focused on calling bears myself nearly 20 years ago. The excitement of Wayne coupled with the aggressive behavior of the bears is absolutely infectious. This DVD will teach you how to find bears as well as how to call them. There are a few bears killed and an incredible archery shot that drops a bear in it's tracks. There is some additional footage of a cougar as well as an archery hunt for coyotes. The best is saved for last as Wayne calls in a monster color phase bear to within feet before releasing his bear spray.

I have that one, too.  Pretty exciting.

I've never seriously tried to call in bears, but I think I'll give it a go this year.

i got the tape that came with a call a while back. we couldnt get the call down so my buddy used a rabbit distress on our last stand. we were cold calling at the time and low & behold after a little less than 10 mins a bear reared its ugly head coming over a fallen tree not 10 feet in front of us. when he talks about the pucker factor, believe it.

A classic. Should be in every collection.

I love the shaky leg guy, the bear he drops with the spine shot, and the one he plays ring around the tree with.
