They are a decent gun, but IMHO I would look at a little higher end rifle if you are wanting a long range rifle. Better stock/trigger etc. But it also kinda depends on what your "long range is" Mine is 600+ some peoples is 300 others 500.

These are great guns. I own one in .308 and with the adjustable trigger it makes it even better. I just wish the magazine prices were cheaper. $38.00 for a plastic mag that holds 3 rounds is freaking nutzz!! I put a bipod on mine, cheek riser kit But stock shell holder and a nice big scope. Works great for poking yotes at loing distances.

my long range is 600+ as well. but i can do it with a model 88 winchester in 308 and its trigger and inherit accuracy is no real prize. but you brink up a good point with the stock... the plastic stocks are sometimes a little... weak. is that the case with the venture? will it flex on me?

$38 bucks a little steep. i suggest you dont buy a browning a-bolt. mag for my 300wsm was $73

Accurate yes, stock weak? I haven't noticed, I consider it a solid rifle and priced just right. As for the mag price it's steep considering I only pay 13 bucks for MagPul 30 rounders for my AR.

I think its a solid rifle but if you want one for a long range gun I would buy a better rifle  :twocents:
