Easy on the specifics i just want to know if you have hunted it. Im not all that worried what others hear though because once most people see these mtns they will turn their car around and if you dont your for real.

its steep country thats very very thick. You have to climb thousands of feet in elevation and thats just to get to the hunting area. Not to mention when you get there not only are you hutning low numbers, but they tend to be some of the smartest around.

judging by your name, I spotted a group of 4 winners 3 of which were huge by wa standards the weekend before the opener. I have spent a good bit of time in the salmo and the numbers are not high, but there are a few doosies in there. I was just in the winter range on the priest side and saw some hopefuls. the local, who is grener then green said they have been seeing a pack of wolves get so close to his house that he is getting a gun......that part sux.  well, converting a greenie is awesome

I am a gun and stick guy. front stuffers never tripped trigger. the bucks I was saying above your area were the week before gun opener. there was a red horned nontypical and 2 big (140 plus) typicals and a 120" buck all together......right above the saddle at ^ pass.

Yes, pretty much been througout the area. Low deer numbers, heavy brush/timber, a few good bucks in the right spots. It's a "feel good" experience at the end of the day.

Yep. Hunted up there about 5 years ago. Didnt see any bucks, but did see a rutted up, pissed off moose at about 75 yards. That made the trip...

Wish the wdfw would give out tags for a late mule deer hunt for the big Canadian bucks that winter up north..They are un huntable till December since they don't reside here all season long.

I think they are considering that option. Jerry Nelson talked about it at the March 4th meeting if I remember correctly.
