We really only have one recipe. Since the begining of time all our deer goes to fry meat. We just seperate the muscles on processing day and then freeze it in big chunks. Upon thawing we slice and fry with some flour and garlic powder in hot oil. The smaller pieces we do package as stew meat. Never have anything left for burger. Like I said since the begining of time, at least my wife and father-in-laws time.

i love my wild game i can do so much with it. i have alot of recipes in my head and stuffed in the pages of the cookbooks. me and my family eat wild game like there is no tomorrow. needless to say i harvest a lot of does with my bow or specisl permits. i shoot the first legal deer or elk i see. and if i have a second deer tag even better. if i don't get a deer something went terribly wrong. it dont happen very often
and its gone b4 the next season starts no matter how much i have.

This last year at dear camp before I left the house I made up a pot of spaghetti made with ground elk meat....Good stuff for sure...easy to reheat also so the first night was an easy one after setting up camp....FC didnt complain about it to much and since the temperature was right about 30 degrees, a nice hot meal before bed that didnt take all night to prepare was nice.....

Tonight we took some elk stew meat, cooked it up, simmered it in some brown gravy for 2hrs and served it over mashed potatoes. Dinner rolls and green beans on the side.
