« on: April 12, 2011, 07:47:04 AM »
Just wondering if anybody has been there recently and what the clarity and temps are?  Any info helps.

Just curious, but if you are in the Spokane area, why don't you get out there and give us the report?

Haven't been to the lake, but the river feeding it is fast and furious right now. Not as muddy as it was a couple of weeks ago however. I would think the water clarity would be good, but not sure of the levels.

You may not even be able to launch yet with the river being as high as it is.  I know they lowest launch is not open and I'm guessing that the one closest to the confluenc of the little spokane is probably under water.  Tum tum may be your only hope

Makes perfect sense to me.  If you are in spokane, it's a short drive to check.  I live 4 minutes to the launch, am I going to check for you.....doubtful

OK i get it... there are those who are helpful and then there are those that arent.  If i was in Spokane all week long i could go out and check.  Unfortunately im not im in Clarkston if any one wanted to know how the conditions for the Snake River or the Grande Ronde i could let them know as i drive by them all the time.  It was a simple request for information not an invite to be rude.

Wasn't meant to be rude at all.  Just noticed that you'd done some posting about living over there and was asking a lot of questions about the area and its fishing.  I just figured you'd been out by now and could give us your findings, that's all.

If I was living where he does, or even where I'm at right now, I'd sure be asking before I hauled out there and found out it was blown out with debris all over. It may be a short haul for some, but not most, not many options to launch and not a lot of backup plans in the near vicinity.

I'd ask too. It's not like he's asking what brush pile, what ledge, or point they're holding on. But I'll take color and bait..  :chuckle:

If I had a choice bass2elk, I think there'd be other waters I'd check out first unless you can get a local report. You could try finding a number for Riverside State Park or call the Dirty Shame Saloon -  (509) 276-5163. They're located in Tum Tum. They may have some info or know who to call. Another is the Willow launch, it's private but they may know something.

Would have been nice to know where you were located.  That being said, the river is flowing pretty dang good as of a few days ago so I'm going to assume the only open public launch is unlaunchable for most right now.  I was at a local lake a few days ago and visibility was a few inches, temp was 45 so I would give long lake a little longer

I live pretty close to long lake and fish it a few times a week once the water temps rise a little. I would recomend waiting a bit before you go out there, but if u do go watch out for floating logs, they r everywhere this time of year. If I get a chance I will check out the conditions at the upper launch for ya.
WDWF needs to get a clue before it's to late!!!
