if at all possable go anyway, bust a big tom & then slap his face with the beard, just for fun. and if he is your neighbor, hang the beard within view like a wind chime.

That sucks big time and I've had it happen to me, too, for elk season. Last year, it was unavoidable because my hunting bud's mother in law got really sick. But another guy canceled on me with a month to go and I haven't hunted with him since. It sucks when someone's commitment to hunting isn't at the same level as yours. At least you now have  a good shotgun to show for it. Go out by yourself and go bad a turkey!

i have to fix the shifter on my truck, yesterday the thing fell out of the socket because the nylon ball at the bottom going into the shifter cup is worn out, i had to fix it three times just to get home from helping my brother yesterday.
if i need to shift into reverse, it will fall out because it goes too far to the left when i slide the shifter over to the right for reverse gear.

just thankful none of the parts fel into the tranny lol!

Hope you get to go! I will not be hunting this weekend either. My Battalion Chief wants me in a tech rope rescue class Fri, Sat & Sun. OK, ok, I guess its not every day I get a chance to rappel the cliffs around the Dry Falls area. Turkeys will have to wait!

shoot coyotes while you are dangling there lol!

But sarge, it was obviously going to chew on my ankle as soon as i reached the bottom so i had to expend a couple rounds into its head to prevent me from getting bit.....

Still hope to head over set up a small camp and go scope the area for the opener on friday.

Anyone else going to be in teanaway area holler, not much of a trip without the good grub my buddy makes at camp, but its going to be a trip none the less. lol!

I will be in a black ford ranger with an ugly blue canopy on it.

That is a sweet ranger you have there.  My buddy has one very similar but he has a bright red canopy and a grey ranger quite funny.  I'll be hunting farther east then you but good luck.

well, have some function with the family this weekend that i absolutely have to be at apparently (per wife).
I will have to go over later on in the season, its not the end of the world.

maybe i can go during the week lol!

Atleast getting READY to go over was fun, buing a shotgun, making it shine in ghetto camo so nicely and all. Mostly buying a shotgun was the best.
but atleast the season isnt short like some seasons.
