Coyote disposal?

I was up in elk heights friday and saw something that was slightly disturbing. Right at the entance onto the road was the skeletons of at least 6 yotes.  One was right in the road and the head still had the fur on it. I dont mind it so much personally but I dont like the idea of a non hunter going into that area and being greeted by that! Isn't there a better place to leave your yotes if you dont want them? Maybe just leave them out in the woods where you shoot them? If you are skinning them why would you haul the to the ntrance to dump them. Drive a couple miles up the road and pitch them off into the bushes where they are less visible to the tree huggers or people who just dont hunt or want to see that type of thing. I just think it makes us as hunters look like slobs.

Sorry for ranting. Just pisses me off when people dont think before they do things. Its like people that dont clean up after they shoot out in the woods then wonder why all our old shooting areas are getting shut down........image is everything these days and anything we can do to keep ourselves from looking bad needs to be done.

I agree.  If they aren't going to be taken out to be skinned, leave them in the bushes.  It's even a bit unsettling for a hunter like me to see dead critters put on display for all to see.  The anti's have enough to complain about without giving them more.

I am glad i am not the only one who doesn't agree with this practice. The antis definately dont need any more ammo against us!

I try to make the biggest pile I can because I think it's cool....  Difference is that I don't do it on public property.

I normally just leave them in the ditch next to the hay field.  Brother in law whacked one in 105 deg heat  and couldn't find it in knee deep hay. A few days later the swather sucked it up into the Hay roller/conditioner!  hard to explain that one to the poor sap that had to clean it up...

Yeah - it is cool Gringo! I mean since its outta sight & all....
 
I usually just leave them where they drop or toss them in a bush or something. But most of the time I am hunting on private land so I will leave them on a busy trail to try & 'discourage' other dogs from coming around. But I dont think it really works, in fact I think more yotes just come in and eat the dead ones....

I've never had anything feed on "the pile" other than ravens and magpies.

More than once in my 'go to' spot I have left one out there and come back a week later and there is hardly anything left. And whatever is left is pulled apart and spread out 15-20ft or so. There is a lot of dogs around this place but I do know there are bobcats, cougars and bears in the area too, so it could be one of them, I dont know?
