Any one have favorite loads for the rifle?

Coastal brown bear
Mt. Brown bear
Like to hear some information & a story or two also as I don't believe this round has been up for discussion before. I really like the 06 and the .338 but I stumbled upon this gun and could not turn down the offer.

its the minimum caliber for african safari, i have an old model 70, i dont reload for it any more, had case problems. i have shot several elk with it and does kill everything quick.

I have been thinking about a 375HH for a long time. We just got one for our buffalo hunts in new zealand. Here is the one I want if i was to buy one

It will make you a great gun! We are going to be running 300g nosler partitions with the ones for the buff's If you want loaded ammo federal offers a lot of diffrent loads for the 375HH.

try noslers 260 gr. accubonds or barnes 250 or 270 gr. behind some r-15 powder.   its a great caliber, my favorite

270 Hornadys and a stiff charge of 3031 used to get me 2700fps and sub MOA groups.

300's and 3031 also gave me 2500fps and groups in the 1 1/4" range.

Research CZ and their big bores very carefully. A few years back CZ was having problems with their barrels and hardness. Great Northern Guns were taking them in for returns to the factory.

If a 270 grain bullet over Re-15 is good enough for Ken Waters, it's good enough for me.

Right about MOA with Hornady 270s out of Rem 798 375 H&H.

 :)They really do not recoil that bad, I think less than a 338 in my experience. A super cartridge!! It is the 30/06 of VERY BIG GAME!! and about the same trajectory.

Not at all.  I find a light 30-06 with 200+ grain bullets much more painful.  The 375 just has a nice big push.  A very very comfortable caliber to shoot.

  Some PH'S put a minimum caliber on what they want there clients to shoot, but there is no restrictions on just a African safari. Some game animals like elephants, in some areas require a minimum of 375.

For the longest time my buddies hunting rifle was an Ackley Improved .375H&H. IIRC he loaded 270gr Partitions.

I shot it a few times and it was surprisingly comfortable to shoot. I was probably only 14-15 the first time I shot it. It wasn't like shooting a .243,thats for sure,but it wasn't the monster most people think it is.

It had a nice trigger and was easy to shoot good groups with.

I bought my (first) 375 H&H last year when Remington discontinued their 798 Mauser line.  Been a very pleasant surprise, both accuracy and recoil-wise.  Have only shot 270 grain bullets so far (over Re-15) but have bought some 300 grainers, too....so, I'm expecting a corresponding increase in recoil with those heavier bullets.
