At least give us your location? Also, everyone is going to tell you to wait until your pup is at least 6 months old to really start training. Let the pup be a puppy, work on obedience first.

What kennel are you getting it from? I was close to getting a DD but got a pudelpointer instead. Read the Drahthaar Puppy Manual. It was worth reading.

I put money down on a female from vom red rock kennels in early feb. i recently purchased the puppy manual and just finished reading training dogs to track wounded deer which is also a good book no matter what versatile dog you have. I was in utah in feb. and was able to see the male. im pretty excited, how old is your dog?

3dvapor...of course you know I'm in. I just picked up a pup this spring and its father is a pup out of John's Rex. There are a number of new Drahthaar owners in Washington this year who are going to be getting their pups ready for tests for this fall and next spring. send me a pm with your email and I will let you know when we will be getting together.
