I have found that the best tasting are the ones that are garden fed, regardless where its from. It never seemed to matter which type of deer it was, if it was eating up our garden during the year, and someone in the family shot it, It has always been the best tasting.

Maybe the satisfaction of getting rid of the pest and the fact that we fed it had something to do with how good it taste.

By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Any age blacktail for me will do the trick... High country mule deer.... Wt is jerky, burger, sausage, ect.... As long as it's mixed with something....
