Tiger Muskey Fishing

hey im going tiger muskey here in a few weeks, went down and set my rod up with 20lb braided line and a 20lb steel 6inch leader, and got a few different rapalas the biggest ones i could find lol, do you guys have any advice? i have never gone fishin for them so just wondering if anyone has any experience going after them

You going to Evergreen?  I have only been once with a guide to try and get a feel for it.  Not going to lie it was not a great trip.  No fish caught and only one bite.  We did some casting and trolled both.  Most of the trolling was done at between 3-5 mph.  Seems fast to me but I'm no expert by any means.  Guide said big flatfish were usually his top producer.  Also Hot shots and other plugs work.  I would guess that rapalas would work just as well.

Heavy gear.  60lb braid and a 60lb leader are the norm.  Large bucktails, prop baits, swimbaits, etc.  I've caught a few on rapalas up at curlew, nothing of size though.  They're quite difficult.  Don't be discouraged if you dont get one on your first trip.  They are the fish of 1000 casts

Also try BIG spinners. I use a lot of big bucktails and also spinner baits and have had good success with both. If your arm gets tired of casting, troll for a while, troll as close to the drop offs from very shallow water as you can. They may still be hanging out deep this early in the year though since that is where a lot of their food still is...
