Deer hit by truck.... that was riding my ass. What to do?
« on: May 02, 2011, 02:54:45 PM »
I'm coming down from Klickitat (Turkey Hunting) and this guy behind me wants to haul ass.  I don't drive slow...or fast.  I'm a grown-ass-man.  I notice a large deer standing on the side of the road so I slow down a little and swerve over to miss it.  As I get past the deer I look in my rear view mirror and SLAM!  Speedy boy slams the deer in the hindquarters (with his jacked-up truck), spinning the deer around and down into the ditch.  Then he hit the brakes and stopped. :yike:

I kept driving.  Should I have stayed in case I had a chance to tell authorities that this happened because this young man (boy) was tailgating me?  Aggressive drivers aggravate me. :bash:  It's almost always young men and women of any age.  :dunno:

I'd say let it be. He has enough to worry about and a chewing by you probably wouldn't help.

I don't think it would have changed anything, and might have started a even bigger problem. He was probably a little worked up. You staying around and telling him he should not have been so close might have started a problem. :chuckle:

Authorities probably won't even show up unless you call them.  The only thing you may have done different is go back and see if the deer needed dispatched (even though it would be illegal for you to do, it may be the right thing to do); you probably wouldn't care about whether or not the guy's truck was still drivable since he had been riding your ass.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

No. He was already acting erratically. Maybe a call to the cops would've been good.
