The landowner hunting permit program shouldbe altered to have the State of Washingtonselect the hunters for all tags and not allow aprivate party to sell access to use “landownertags.”
I am in favor of WDFW opening more land forpublic hunting, but I do not think that allowinglandowners to charge an access fee to hunt isconsidered public hunting.
This issue was discussed thoroughly with a publichunting advisory group during development of theLandowner Hunting Permit program (LHP). Thetags that landowners receive in an LHP agreementare not considered the “public hunting” portion of theagreement. Rather, these tags are intended to allowthe landowner to hunt their property or have someoneelse hunt their property to offset costs associated withallowing public hunting or to help address gamedamage issues on their land (if they accept an LHPagreement, they cannot make a crop damage claim).Hunters drawing “public hunting” permits will not becharged a fee to hunt on the LHP property
Grande Ronde Vista Landowner Hunting PermitsThe manager of the Grande Ronde Vista will distribute these huntingpermits. An access fee may be charged in order to utilize thesepermits.
sssshhhh i was wondering when this would come up. things will get interisting after they find out what they have drawn. could be good could be bad . depends on what you know about the country good luck to all j
-With Grande Ronde Vista there is a access fee! And it Aint cheap! Would be nice to know this before applying, thanks wdfw
the ronde tag is a combo of Odom and 4-0 cattle co..its not cheap and its all private no other land to access but theirs..if I remember right they charged $1500 to kill a cow elk last year on 4-0...the ten ten on the other hand is mostly private and various landowners with some nat forest

Unless I'm missing something, they cannot charge if you draw the tag.
I saw the guy at church but didn't get a chance to ask him today. I'll drop him an email. I still don't think that 4-0 charged him when he drew the tag. Pretty sure he would have mentioned that because he was telling me that I should put my boy in for that hunt.
