Anterless permit application questions

So I noticed a couple of things when applying for this years permits and had a couple of questions that I am hoping you guys can help with.  I tried to call WDFW already (useless), Weyco (recording) and I even looked up the WAC's, but I cant find answers to these questions.
1. There is a new Anterless Winston WF tag from Jan 1-16. So does anybody know if the gates will be open to the St. Helens Tree Farm during that time for access?
2. There is a hunt open to any tag holder for the Blackrock Ranches in Yakima County.  Does anyone know how big the ranch is and how much the access fee is?

Well apparently dfw wants to take a ton of cows out of the winston. Between 150 general season modern special permits and 200 after new years I'd bet the gates will be open...

I'm bettin the gates will be locked.But should still be plenty easy to tag out.

i have a question along the same lines. lets say some one drew that cow tag for the later hunt. would they be allowed to hunt the reg season for there bull? and then if not successful filling bull tag then be allowed to hunt the later season??

Yes you are correct you can hunt general season and if your tag is filled then you wouldn't be able to hunt that special permit, but if you don't get anything during general then shoot a cow for winter meat!!!

Last year they had several gates open down there I can only speak of opening of deer (MF) through elk and including extended buck. First time I've seen it in years. Now granted the majority of what timber was left is now gone but still there was plenty of access. It only takes a short time to cut across country near a gate and be where you want if you know the ridge lines well enough. Grab a compass or gps and go for it either way.

They were open through late archery elk and late deer last year.

I dont see weyco opening them. Once late archary is over they lock them back up. That hunt should be an easy meat hunt.

If they don't open them, then I am more inclined to put in for the later tag just to ensure I don't have to deal with the lazy and rude road hunters if I do get drawn.  Due to gas prices, there is no way that I am heading East, so the Wetside is my only option. I have had a few run-ins with hunters in the area and I don't care to deal with them.
The last time I hunted in the St Helens Tree Farm, 4 ass clowns completely blocked the road with their trucks. We called them out on it and I thought it was going to be the OK Coral, so we finally backed down and turned around.  Anyways, we ended up doubling back over the ridge and got to our spot a little later than we wanted, but shot a bull about 5 minutes later.
In the end it all worked out, but I have almost given up rifle hunting in this State all together because of some of the idiots that are allowed to buy a licenses.
