Oh and I would add this personal opinion too - if you are just starting out calling coyotes, I dont think howling is the best place to start. I think distress calls are much easier to start with and make proper sounds. Not only do I get better results, you have to kind of understand the ky-oat language so you know what the vocalizations mean and which to use. I think you can just as easily run a dog off before calling one in. Anyway, thats my
the metal Reeds are JC Reeds. there are certain way's to tune them. my closed reed that i call my bear call. ie a Tuned reed for a Raspier sound. the Delrin call's i have make awsome sound's. think Dense wood's cocabola, african blackwood and Desert ironwood make great sounds they are very dense. Littletoes good stuff there. Rick these are what Delrin look's like used alot in duck call's. the one on the right was turned by me awsome sound. the left call is my production call i cnc machined it in michigan. this material is very good for sound.
Yea, I'd say its this custom Tuning that separates the men from the boys. An experienced coyote hunter knows the sound he's after....dogs beware!
