I read in here that those permits that are on private propery are given out in lew of the owners filing claims with the state for elk damage. They are not supposed to charge you, and I would think that letting you hunt there property would go along with the deal. But I've been wrong before.
1010 is just the Marengo unit and Dayton unit minus the National Forest part of the Dayton unit. So it's basically a private land hunt with a couple token sections of state land thrown in to let you feel like you have a place to go. Great hunt if you have relatives with land there.

So who drew these 1010 tags? Are they any good?
I wouldn't waste my time applying for a tag where I didn't already have a place to hunt.... If there is any question about access and scouting I will not apply..... Good luck!!!!
