Anyone want to put in for Goose Prairie?
« on: May 16, 2011, 08:16:41 AM »
An idea I had, we are looking for 1 or 2 more people to join our group to put in for the archery goose prairie hunt. I have one friend that wants to, so right now we are at 2 total. We drew last year and had a blast, saw lots of bulls and had a great hunt. This camp is no alcohol if that deters anyone. Also have 1 horse and access to more I believe.

I already put in for the hunt.  Was my only premium I applied for.  Hunted the area when it was cow and spike and saw more bulls than I could shake a stick at.  Should be a gimme if I get drawn.  If I don't, I'll be hunting manastash, taneum, or rimrock.

I too already put in for this hunt. I have hunted solo backcountry the last 2 years as my dad has gotten too old to hike the hills anymore.

I might consider joining a group if the fit was right. My only attempt with that showed I was not a fit with them as I found out I was a more serious hunter than they were (I actually wanted to be in the woods when shooting light came). Talking to 2 coworkers about joining forces, will have to wait and see how that works out. No alcohol is great with me. I do have experience and gear with horses and mules, just no animals now that I moved to the city.

PM me later after the drawing and maybe we could meet up for a couple days during the season if you hunt the couple areas I like.

Put in for it but chose muzzle loader so I will be a couple weeks behind you if selected. I would probably be up there scouting during your season. So if you needed an extra hand packing or helping out around camp I would be up for it. Just have to wait it out and see what the drawing results are. Good luck to all who put in for this hunt.

I put in for west side archery, but the no alcohol sounds good. Keep me in mind for other hunts in the future.
