what trail cam would be best?

Here is the sitituation I am in. I caught a guy stealing my kicker motor. I ended up getting the motor back and he got a ride in the back of a nice cop car. I would like to put a few cameras up at my house incase I am not lucky enough to catch him again. What brand and models should I look at? I know nothing about trail cams but think it would be great to have a few up just in case. Thanks

If you want him to think he's getting away with it go with an IR camera, but if you want to try and spook him off with a flash then obviously go with a flash.  Seeing as you want a couple to actually get the guys picture and be able to see him well, you'd probably have to go with a middle to high end camera to get good enough night quality.    for now.

I like my Bushnell trophy cam. It is small and has IR. Batteries last forever so you can put it up and not worry about it. It does Pictures or video.

I'll second the Bushnell Trophy. Mine has worked great. However....it only takes Scandisk cards so be prepared for that.

I have a Bushnell Trophy Cam. Great pics and great battery life. I have been using it for several months with lithium batteries and they are still at full power. Batteries will be the greatest expense on the cheaper cameras.

Repeat on the Bushnell(excellent bat life and thousands of pics), then go on Ebay and buy a lockable security box and your good to go. But if you have around $400 you are wanting to put out go for american made Reconyx as they have better durability.

If you have a Cabela's card you can get them for $147 at Cabela's.

They are on sale at Cabelas this Saturday for $140. Not sure if the Cabelas card brings that price down even more. Craig, why are they cheaper with a Cabelas card? And, what IS a Cabelas card? Are you talking about a credit card?

I think they are normally $199.  cabelas has a couple things on special sale every week or so if you are a Cabelas card member (visa ). They might be on sale for everyone this week. I don't know. If you walk in Cabelas there is a table on the left side with their weekly card specials.
