Does anyone know what kind this is? It looks an aweful lot like a spotted owlet.

Looks like a barred owl Brandon.  No ear tufts and light and dark on the breast.


I would say a Barred Owl as well. The whiter feet with blacker claws is another sign from the Spotted.

you didnt attempted to put him back up in the tree with his mama, i would have wanted to bring him home, my daughter would have loved that little bugger thats for sure

Ya i can just picture my big A%& climbing a 40 ft pine tree, baby owl biting me in one hand, and momma owl swooping down tearing flesh from the back of my neck as try to make it to the nest... HAHA i bet if i had pic of that you guys you have something to laugh at for ages... No i just drove away... Although it would be awesome to have the little guy... Pipe dream i dont think the wife would go for...
