R.R. Game calls
« on: June 01, 2011, 07:28:32 AM »
Can't say enough good things about this call I just bought. I have never specifically targeted coyotes, but bought a new 22-250 a few weeks ago and decided to get a call to go along with it, so I  used one of the sponsors from this site to fill my need.

I got to our property last Wednesday for a nice day and a half long downpoor, but made it out Thursday night to try out the call. Remember I have never done this and really did not know what I was doing. I did watch a few youtube videos for about 5 minutes before going to get a general idea of what sound I was looking for. Anyway, I gave a few calls and less than 5 minutes later I had a coyote within 40 yards. Had I not been so shocked at how well the call worked, I would have bagged that yote.

Changed positions and tried calling for about another 15 minutes and had two more come in together. This time I got one at around 150 yards. Anyway I am now hooked and just wanted to say I am definitely impressed with the call. Thanks R.R.

Wow - sounds like you found a good area and the call worked awesome! Where exactly did you say you were at??  :chuckle:
But that is really cool when it works like that - I wish more days were that way for me!
I aint superstitious - cuz its bad luck!

No doubt. RR calls work great....

Glad to hear some success! Its a really cool feeling when you call in a yote huh?! I was hooked my first day calling....I had no idea really what to do...called in a yote and a bob first day...of course, havent called in a bob since (that I know of)... :chuckle: :bash:

Good luck with future sets!

Rick really takes pride in his work and if you are anywhere near he will demonstrate calling. The very first one I got I called a bear in it was;nt season yet but it sure was exciting. Another thing about Rick he is everybodys friend  and he likes to say. I am just Rick.

JKEEN33, you should get ahold of me next time you're up here ?

With fishing season starting up, I probably won't be back out until late August. Need to get the freezer filled back up with some salmon. I have the multi season dear tag this year and plan on spending a lot of time out there. Would like to get a bear this year also. Saw 5 out there last year, but they were all on the small side.

I will deffinately let you know when I am heading back out.

Just ordered a howler. Hopefully I can figure that one out and do another write up about my success.

Do you have any recordings or recommendations where to find the sounds we should be trying to get out of these? Once I here what I am looking for I am usually pretty good at imitating it.
